LeLe’s system prioritizes “reading first, then literacy.” By engaging in shared reading with a parent or teacher—and with support from tools like the audio pen, reading robot, or e-books—children can complete an initial, independent reading of a story. Through repeated readings, they naturally acquire character recognition; any characters whose pronunciation isn’t yet solid can then be reinforced with flashcard activities. Literacy isn’t just pronouncing a character—it’s understanding its meaning, which is the true goal of reading.
