9. 需要讓孩子反覆背誦字詞卡嗎?
Do children need to repeatedly memorize flashcards? Why is rote memorization ineffective?

A: Rote drilling of isolated characters on flashcards often backfires for three key reasons:
Lack of context: Memorizing “飞” in isolation doesn’t teach a child how it’s used in a sentence like “小鸟会飞” (“The bird can fly”), so the character’s meaning and usage remain opaque.
Short-term retention: Pure memorization lives in short-term memory. Without seeing characters repeatedly in real stories, children quickly forget what they’ve “learned.”
Reduced motivation: Constant drilling turns Chinese into a chore, creating negative associations (“Chinese = stress”) that lead many non-native learners to give up.
Instead, LeLe’s approach embeds characters in engaging, leveled stories—children encounter each character naturally and repeatedly in meaningful contexts, building deep, long-lasting literacy and genuine enthusiasm for reading.
